Maid steals gold worth Dhs100,000 from employer

An Asian maid, 45, was arrested and referred to the criminal court for stealing gold jewellery and cash worth around Dhs100,000 from her employer.
Official records indicate that the maid took advantage of her employer’s absence and stole passports and 12 earrings, 28 rings, a diamond jewellery set, luxury handbags worth around Dhs100,000.
The defendant had planned to rob her employer right after she received a late salary.
The victim discovered the robbery and immediately informed police, who in their turn arrested the defendant and found the stolen items in her apartment.
Accordingly, the defendant was jailed and charged with robbery.
