Abu Dhabi Airport has said that residents stranded aboard with valid UAE visa can arrive at the capital airport without the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) permit.
The news comes as a big relief to thousands of UAE residents who are stranded aboard due to the COVID-19 pandemic and are waiting for the ICA approval to land at country’s airport.
The UAE and regional airlines have confirmed that such circular was issued and is within the travelling procedures.
It is believed that the new travel directions will come into effect from Aug.11, 2020.
However, all other requirement for travelling to UAE, such as the COVID-19 tests and precautionary measures remain in place.

The Abu Dhabi Airport said on its website, “Special flights are now operating in and out of Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH).
“Should you be booked on one of these flights, you will be allowed access to the airport.
“However, for the sake of your own safety, and the safety of your fellow travellers, we ask that you follow the below instructions:
· Please ensure that you and your children are wearing facemasks and disposable gloves at all times
· Please maintain a two metre distance from other passengers at all times, be you standing, walking, or sitting.
If you are arriving in the UAE, you will need to obtain a negative COVID-19 PCR test result before your travel, issued no more than 96 hours prior to your arrival in the UAE.
Upon arrival, all inbound passengers will have to undergo a mandatory COVID-19 PCR test at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
