14-day-quarantine is a must for all returnees to UAE

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) UAE has confirmed within the procedures announced on Wednesday regarding return of residents that all returnees from outside the country must adhere to the 14-day-quarantine even if they test negative to COVID-19.

“This period may be reduced to seven days in some cases such as professions in vital sectors or for those who came from low risk countries,” it added.

It also stressed the importance of abiding the mandatory health requirements in order to preserve the public health, taking into account the procedures and requirements adopted.

ICA has urged the residents stranded abroad to verify their identification data via uaeentry.ica.gov.ae by entering data of their ID and passport.

It has also emphasised the obligation to conduct a lab test for COVID-19 abroad at accredited facilities and the requirement to obtain a negative test result no more than 96 hours before take-off.

The accredited labs in all countries are available on “purehealth.ae” website, it added.

Among the procedures, each traveller must fill in the health accountability forms that stipulate undertaking a quarantine upon return, along with the need to download and register in Al Hosn application of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and other applications authorised by health authorities.

In case of violation of the regulations, penalties shall be applied in accordance with the list of fines issued by the Public Prosecution for Emergency and Crises.
