UAE Government held a news briefing on Tuesday where Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, and Dr Omar Al Hammadi, the government briefing spokesperson, gave an update on Covid-19 developments.
Abdul Rahman Al Owais said UAE health authorities continue their efforts to curb the spread of the Coronavirus. More than six million Covid-19 tests were conducted to date.

Al Owais said, “Despite a significant decline in Covid-19 cases in the past few weeks, unfortunately we see a surge in daily cases. We urge the public to adhere to precautionary measures and to avoid family and social gatherings.”
Al Owais also said, “Phase three of the clinical trial to develop a Covid-19 vaccine is progressing well.
“No side effects have been observed on volunteers who participated in the trials. We value their contribution and invite more volunteers to take part in the trials.
