The Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Media announced on Monday that it has taken a number of administrative disciplinary decisions against the employees responsible for the TV programme that broadcast the fabricated story, about the death of five members of one family due to COVID-19
The decisions included terminating services of some, suspending others from work, while other received final warnings and financial penalties in accordance regulations of the "Abu Dhabi Media".
This came through the Abu Dhabi Media Company’s announcement of the results of the internal investigation conducted by it regarding the fabricated story about the death of 5 members of one family due to the COVID-19.
The investigation came within the framework of Abu Dhabi Media’s commitment to applying the highest standards of transparency and corporate governance, and an affirmation of following its approach to investigating the accuracy and reliability of content, which it broadcasts via its various media platforms.

The Abu Dhabi Media’s Board of Directors, directed form a special committee to conduct an immediate and comprehensive internal investigation, following the fabricated story had been broadcast on the Abu Dhabi Sports Channel, which was later denied.
Based on the results of the investigation, which showed that there was a clear failure to verify the information from the relevant sources and official authorities in the country before presenting it to the public.
And in accordance with the regulations and systems approved by the company, it has held accountable those who neglect to follow the media responsibility charter adopted by the company and the ethics of the profession and its principles, which constitute the core value of Abu Dhabi Media.
Consequently, the Board of Directors took the necessary administrative disciplinary decisions against the employees responsible for the programme that broadcast the fabricated story.
The Board of Directors further confirmed its keenness not to tolerate anything that affects credibility, reiterating the Abu Dhabi Media Company’s commitment to the public to provide accurate and correct information from its official source, which constitutes a continuation of its sober media approach since its inception.
