Sharjah City Municipality, with participation of Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, organised an inspection visit to Al Muntazah Street in Sharjah to inspect the agricultural works carried out by the municipality.
Around 300 employees carried out 2000 working hours in the project on an area of 50,000 square meters, using 500 tonnes of organic fertiliser and planting more than 50,000 saplings and shrubs, in implementation of the visions and directives of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to increase the green area and encourage agriculture and interest in it.
A group of officials from the municipality paid an inspection visit to Al Muntazah Street to view the agricultural works carried out by the municipality.
Thabet Al-Tarifi, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, explained that the project reflects the municipality’s keenness to cooperate and coordinate with the various government agencies in the emirate, which work according to a system of joint governmental plan to achieve the vision of the emirate and its goals.
Al-Tarifi confirmed that the municipality has recently completed the re-planting works in the Sheikh Muhammad Bin Saqr Al Qasimi roundabout and the agricultural works in Al-Muntazah Street, by providing natural grass and planting various saplings, flowers of different types on an area estimated at more than 50,000 square meters, indicating that the municipality had implemented a fully automatic irrigation network with a control system.
