Sheikh Mohammed and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed take pride in Emirati women’s achievements

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces have congratulated women on the occasion of the Emirati Women’s Day, which falls on August 28.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid said on Twitter, “To the Emirati women on their day… you worked hard... you accomplished... you proved to the world who you are... proud of you... proud of your partnership in the development process.... we take pride in your achievements... Happy Emirati Women’s Day, wish you a prosperous future with further achievements...” The Dubai Ruler made the statement with a mesmerising video of women in different spheres of the society.

It shows the challenges they have overcome and excelled in all fields.

Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said, “On Emirati Women’s Day, we extend our gratitude to all mothers, sisters & daughters for their contributions to our nation, & their instrumental role in the frontline response to COVID-19. We congratulate & honour you, & we remain committed to the empowerment of all women.” Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) ‘’Mother of the Nation’’, said the UAE’s leadership is sparing no effort in providing opportunities for Emirati women to prosper, be empowered and strengthen their contribution to enabling economic and social progress in the country.

In a speech delivered virtually on her behalf by Dr Maitha Bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State and Special Representative for Sheikha Fatima, she noted that the UAE has made remarkable progress in empowering women and praised the contribution of Emirati women in the fight against COVID-19.

The event was organised by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to celebrate the UAE’s 6th annual Emirati Women’s Day and recognise the accomplishments of ADNOC’s female workforce as the company responds to COVID-19.

Following Sheikha Fatima’s remarks, Dr Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and ADNOC Group CEO expressed appreciation for the steadfast support of Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation — as well as that of the UAE Leadership - in inspiring Emirati women to be key partners in the long-term growth and prosperity of the nation.
