Female Sharjah government employees with school-going kids get 7 days off, in work from home system

The Government of Sharjah has decided to grant a week-long leave to female employees of the government who have school-going children.
This was following the directives of Sheikh Sultan Bin Muhammad Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, the Sharjah Human Resources Directorate has decided to grant a special week-long exceptional leave to female employees of the Sharjah government who have school-going children in the ninth grade and below.
Following the week-long special leave, working mothers will be allowed to work from home with the relevant guidelines and conditions, said the Directorate.

The directives of the Crown Prince coincide with the start of the new 2020-21 school year this week and are part of Sharjah's ongoing efforts to support the families and their school-going children resume regular educational activities after the unprecedented Coronavirus pandemic, while observing all necessary health safety guidelines and preventive measures.
On Thursday, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, issued directives for the implementation of a work from home policy in Dubai government entities for female employees with children undertaking distance learning. The policy is effective from next week coinciding with the new school year.
As per Sheikh Hamdan’s directives, starting next week, all Dubai Government entities will allow such female employees to work from home under certain conditions. Female employees will be allowed to work from home provided their job can be done remotely and does not impact the operations of the government entity they are employed in. Mothers of children in Grade 9 and below including kindergarten are eligible to work from home. Female employees are allowed to work from home based on an approved school schedule and only on the days the children are attending classes remotely.
