His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the establishment of “Al Sawab Resthouse” (a rest house for the elderly) close to the fish market. The resthouse that has been scheduled to be completed within two months will include a Majlis and a service area with a seafront from the fishermen marina.
This was announced by Ali Bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Head of the Sharjah Public Works Department, during a phone call with the Direct Line program broadcast on Sharjah TV and Radio.
Al Suwaidi said, “In the past, the elderly used to sit in that area, under an umbrella, in the evening. Therefore, the Ruler directed to establish an official break for them and it will provide all necessary services. It will include a Majlis, buffet and washing rooms with a sea view to the fishermen marina. They can receive guests in that rest house, especially since they prefer to sit in that area near the fish market.”
He added, “The project is in the finishing phase, and is expected to complete within a month or two months.”
He pointed out that Al Shawab Resthouse is one of the projects being carried out Dibba Al Hisn, along with other projects, including Al Maleh Market, and a restaurant on Dibba Al Hisn island.
He confirmed that work is underway on many projects in Dibba Al-Hisn that the Ruler had previously directed, and there are new directives for other projects in the city of Dibba Al-Hisn.
“His Highness is the master planner for these projects, and we know that Dibba Al Hisn was about farms, and now it has become a tourist destination, as the beach project that was built and the beach for women added aesthetic to the area,” Al Suwaidi added.
Al Suwaidi further added, “We have other good news for the people of Dibba Al-Hisn, as His Highness has directed the establishment of an ideal modern club in Dibba Al Hisn, by developing the current club and adding new spaces to expand the club.”
“All facilities, including a sports stadium, a stadium, a closed gym, and an indoor swimming pool to serve the people of the area, external playgrounds, a new and integrated administrative building, and all facilities that serve the club and people of the region will be developed according to the latest standards for various sports,” he said.
His Highness directed to start coordinating with the concerned authorities, and start the works according to the best standards, Al Swiaid said.
