The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA) announced the restart of the smart gates at the Dubai International Airport in terminal 3.
Departures will be allowed to use the smart gate by scanning their passport only, as part of UAE's precautionary measures against COVID-19, to ensure the highest level of safety for all.
Major General Mohammed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai said: "The restart of the smart gates helps to facilitate and simplify the travel procedures, as the smart gates consider the safest way to travel in light of the current conditions that the world defeat against the COVID-19."
He added, "This step helps to enhance the passenger's confidence in the emirates of Dubai about this procedures which constitute a safety umbrella for them."
Al Marri also stressed that the GDRFA Dubai continues to provide the best services for passengers though Dubai ports according to precautionary and security measures to ensure the safety of the passengers and GDRFA Dubai employees.
He added, Dubai airports have been witnessing since the return of air traffic from an increase in the number of passenger, it heralds a new phase of tourism activity and confirm the tourism infrastructure of Dubai and the continuous government support, especially as Dubai airports have occupied the highest ranks compared to various international airports, due to the services it provides that attract the latest smart technology and distinguished facilities to enhance the smart passenger experience."
