VIDEO: Makkah experiences heavy rain

The Holy city of Makkah witnessed moderate to heavy rain on Thursday afternoon, bringing the temperature down by a few notches.
A video doing the rounds on social media showed heavy rain in area surrounding the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
The heavy rain concentrated on the eastern neighbourhoods, including ‘Al-Sharaya and Al-Jarana’ and neighbouring villages, and the southern and southeastern neighbourhoods.
The General Authority of Meteorology and Environment Protection forecast the weather for Thursday as thunderstorms accompanied by active winds on the heights of Jazan, Asir, Baha, Makkah, and Medinah.
The Authority stated that the surface wind movement in the Red Sea is northwesterly to northerly on northern and central part and southwesterly to southeasterly on southern part at speed of 16-38 km/h, while the surface wind movement in the Arabian Gulf is southeasterly to southwesterly at speed 10-30 km/h.
