A large amount of “Naswar” weighing nearly 1.5 tonnes along with a number of machines used for manufacturing such prohibited substances have been seized in a traditional plant located in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Four Asians have been also caught in possession of the prohibited items and referred to the concerned authorities for further legal action.
The “Mersad” unit of the Special Patrols at the Criminal Security of the Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with local partners in the emirate represented by the Municipality, department of Transport and (Tadweer), seized the above-mentioned items and arrested the persons in charge of the plant.
This was after the security teams had received initial information about suspicious activity in a plant in the emirate. Upon verifying the information, the necessary legal measures were taken, followed by coordination with the competent departments. The plant was raided, where four Asians were arrested with the prohibited items.
Brigadier General Mohammad Suhail Al Rashidi, Director of the Criminal Security at Abu Dhabi Police, praised the cooperation with partners and the watchful efforts of the security teams, which resulted in the seizure of the prohibited items.
