A 29-year-old Arab man was arrested and referred to criminal court for resisting an arrest and attempting to run over a police officer, and sabotaging a police patrol.
Details of the incident date back to last February, when the police officers, working at the Anti-Narcotics Department, received confirmed information that a wanted runaway and the defendant are in possession of drugs at a hotel room, intending to distribute the drugs.
A police patrol was dispatched to the scene to place the arrest, and once arrived, the defendants did not respond to the officers request to step out of their vehicle.
The defendant also attempted to flee the scene and run over a police officer to avoid his arrest.
He also tried to run into the police patrol to sabotage it.
However, officers managed to successfully apprehend the defendant and he was jailed and prosecuted immediately.
