African attempts to steal ATM machine after losing job in Dubai

The Dubai Public Prosecution referred a 25-year-old African man to criminal court for attempting to rob an ATM machine that belongs to one of Dubai’s banks.

Police received a call reporting about the bizarre incident of an attempted robbery, they rushed to the crime scene and arrested the defendant.

Apparently, the defendant attempted to steal the entire ATM machine using an electric drill, and cable-cutting machine in order to detach the ATM and take it along.

During investigations, the defendant testified that he planned to steal the ATM machine as he was going through a rough financial crisis after losing his job and was left without any source of income.

The defendant stated that he had searched the internet to learn how to detach the machine and steal it.

Police identified and apprehended the defendant through surveillance cameras, and he is now facing attempting robbery charges.
