Two Dubai cafes shut down, five others fined for non-compliance with preventive measures

The Dubai Municipality on Sunday shut down two cafes in the emirate, and fined 5 other establishments for not adhering to the precautionary measures against COVID-19, noting that 98 per cent of the inspected establishments on Sunday, October 17, across open markets and shopping centres were found to have fully complied with the guidelines.

The Municipality further said that inspectors carried out 2,258 inspection visits during which 46 warnings were issued to violating establishment, while the number of establishments that were found complying with the requirements and measures of public safety reached 2,258.
The Municipality also confirmed the continuation of its daily inspection campaigns to make sure that commercial establishments commit to the precautionary measures against COVID-19. It has already issued circulars for all establishments, including cafes, to ensure the requirements in force in the emirate, especially the social distancing between people and distancing between tables, as well as compliance with health practices like wearing masks and gloves.
