Sheikh Nahyan receives COVID-19 vaccine shot

Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister for Tolerance and Coexistence, received a dosage of the coronavirus vaccine in support of the national programme to combat the virus and limit its spread.
Sheikh Nahyan said, "The UAE, with the guidance and support of the wise leadership, demonstrated during the emerging coronavirus pandemic its ability to deal with the repercussions of the pandemic with high efficiency, based on the best scientific and practical standards, which embodies the leadership of the medical sector in the UAE."
Sheikh Nahyan said, "The COVID-19 vaccine would provide the utmost safety and security for workers in the first line of defence, and preserve and protect lives."
The UAE has authorised the emergency use of the COVID-19 vaccine, to make it available to the groups most dealing with people infected with the virus from the first line of defense, with the aim of providing all safety and security means and protecting them from any dangers they may face due to the nature of their work.
The trials conducted in the country, with the participation of more than 31,000 volunteers from 125 nationalities, proved that the vaccine is safe and effective and resulted in a strong response to fight the virus.
The use of the COVID-19 vaccine contributes to saving lives and reducing injuries resulting from the pandemic, and it is one of the ways the UAE has taken to limit the spread of the epidemic and protect the health and safety of society.
