His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a host of projects in Dubai to improve the quality of life in the emirate.

Sheikh Mohammed inspected an energy project at the cost of Dhs4 billion. The project will treat solid waste to produce energy.
Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter, “Today we were briefed on the Dubai project for energy production by treating waste at a cost of Dhs4 billion. The project accommodates a thousand garbage trucks per day and generates sufficient energy for 135,000 homes... Dubai is a clean city... its energy is clean... and its neighborhoods are clean... and its energy resources must remain clean.”
Sheikh Mohammed also approved 29 new projects to add eight million square metres of green spaces and gardens, worth Dhs2 billion within Dubai's residential and commercial areas.

Sheikh Mohammed said, “We are continuing to develop our city... we continue to develop our quality of life... we continue to build our future...”
The Dubai Ruler also approved the development of Dubai's beaches. The 12km development will cover Al Mamzar Beach to Umm Suqeim II at the cost of Dhs500 million.
It will have more areas for swimming and better jogging paths, longer cycling track.
