Abu Dhabi private schools to resume classes from January

It will be back to school for all the students of Abu Dhabi private schools from January next year.

In a tweet on Tuesday the Abu Dhabi Emergency Crisis and Disasters Committee for COVID-19 Pandemic and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) confirmed that authorities have agreed that private schools in Abu Dhabi will welcome all students back to classrooms from January.

“ADEK will coordinate with private schools and support them in implementing the necessary preventive and precautionary measures to maintain the health and safety of students and staff,” it tweeted further.

Last month the ADEK has obligated all private schools in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to conduct COVID-19 test for their administrative and teaching staff, as well as their workers every 14 days.

The Department also stressed the need for private schools to be flexible and continue providing distance education programmes, in light of the gradual return policy to school.

A number of administrations of private schools in Abu Dhabi affirmed that they are committing to conducting the test for their staff periodically.
