Ajman University (AU) on Tuesday, Nov.3, marked the UAE ‘Flag Day’ amidst enthusiastic patriotic fervour and resounding sounds of the national anthem.
The ceremony came as the nation marks its 8th Flag Day by hoisting the national flag high at public and private buildings at 11am sharp.
First marked in 2013 and normally celebrated on Nov.3, the UAE Flag Day also marks the accession of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the office as President of the UAE in 2004.

It is a national occasion where people of the UAE remember the efforts of the founders of the country, Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid, and their brothers who sacrificed everything for the sake of their nation.
Strictly observing all the anti-COVID-19 precautionary measures, the AU chancellor, cabinet members and deans, proudly saluted the UAE flag while chanting the national anthem.
“Today, as individuals and institutions, citizens and residents, are joining hands and rallying around the country, the meaning of the Flag Day becomes clearer,” they said.
It means unison at times of division, construction at times of destruction, and security and stability at times of strives and insecurity, they added.
“The Flag Day is the UAE’s consensus on our wise leadership, our federation and our loyalty to this nation.”
On this glorious day, every Emirati national and residents celebrate the values of pride, glory, and patriotism. “We raise the UAE flag high and proud.”
It is an opportunity to express the values of national cohesion and the interdependence of the UAE society, they pointed out.
“The Flag Day is also intended to highlight the sense of belonging to this country and its wise leaders who strive to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the people and ensure their comfort and happiness.”
