India reported 46,253 fresh coronavirus infections, 514 more fatalities in 24 hours.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the country mounted to 83,13,876, while the deaths rose to 1,23,611, health ministry data showed on Wednesday.
According to the Union Health Ministry's data India's coronavirus caseload went past 8.3 million, while the number of recoveries surged to 7.6 million, pushing the national recovery rate to over 92 per cent.

There are 5,33,787 active cases in the country as on date which comprise 6.42 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
Indian state Maharashtra reported 6,973 recoveries as opposed to 4,909 new coronavirus cases.
The Indian Capital, New Delhi, witnessed its highest single-day jump in virus cases as 6,725 persons were found positive in a 24-hour period, during which 59,540 tests were conducted — taking the positivity rate to 11.29%.

Still, infections are rising in some parts of the country, even as active cases decline nationwide.
Besides New Delhi, the southern state of Kerala and West Bengal in the east have seen a rise in active cases in the last month, according to the health ministry.
The government has warned that cases could surge during the ongoing festival season, asking people to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
