An Asian gang of three members, aged 20, 26 and 30, was arrested and referred to criminal court for committing a robbery at a home and terrorising European mother and daughter with a weapon.
The details of the case date back to time when three defendants and a runaway accomplice planned to rob a family’s house and split the loot between them.
The defendants bought masks to hide their identity and headed to the targeted house.
They entered the villa’s main door and held the 58-year-old mother, and 17 years-old daughter hostage at knifepoint.
The scared mother lead the robbers to her purse and the money’s location in order to prevent the escalation of the situation.
An amount of Dhs1,300 was taken by the robbers, along with a glass vase. Afterwards, the defendants fled the scene.
The robbery incident was reported to police by the mother. With the help of mother and her daughter police were able to identify and arrest the defendants
One of the defendants was found to be the gardener of the villa who was well aware of the victim family and had planned to rob them with the help of his accomplices.
