21-year-old Indian engineering student commits suicide in Sharjah

A 21-year-old Indian student was found hanging from the ceiling fan of his Sharjah house on the night of Nov.2, 2020.
The shocked family was completely unaware about the motive behind his drastic act.
One of the family members found him hanging from the ceiling fan when he entered his room.
No suicide note was found near the body.
Police and forensic teams were immediately called to the scene to transfer the body to the hospital.

An investigation has been launched to know the reasons behind the mysterious death suicide.
The victim’s family is devastated and is trying to figure out what went wrong in his life which compelled him to end his life.
In September, a 53-year-old Emirati man had fallen to his death from the balcony of his building in Sharjah last week.
Residents of the area reported the incident to Sharjah police around 9:30am, after they witnessed the man falling from the 10th floor of his residence.
He suffered severe injuries but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries on his way to hospital.
The body was later transferred to the morgue, and police immediately initiated an investigation to know the reasons behind the incident and whether it was an accident, or an attempt to commit suicide.
Workers who have been exposed to sexual harassment at their workplace were at a greater risk of suicide and attempting suicide, warn researchers.
The findings published in the journal 'The BMJ' suggests that workplace interventions focusing on the social side of the work environment could help reduce suicides.
