More than 51.81 million people have reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,279,029 have died, according to a media tally published on Thursday.
With 239,879 deaths and over 10.2 million confirmed cases, the United States tops the list of twenty countries with the highest recorded infections and deaths in the world.

Russia reported a record high of 439 new deaths related to the novel coronavirus on Thursday, taking the official death toll to 32,032.

Authorities also reported 21,608 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, including 5,997 in the capital Moscow, bringing the national tally to 1,858,568.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany increased by 21,866 to 727,553, data from the Robert Koch Institute for infectious diseases showed on Thursday.
The reported death toll rose by 215 to 11,982, the tally showed.
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
