YouTube said late on Wednesday it had fixed a glitch, which outage monitoring website Downdetector.com said affected more than 280,000 users.
Later YouTube tweeted, "Our team is aware of the issue and working on a fix. We'll follow up here with any updates."

The issue started at around 6:53pm ET (23:53 GMT), according to Downdetector.com, with users complaining about trouble in watching videos on the platform.

“We're so sorry for the interruption. This is fixed across all devices & YouTube services,” YouTube said in a tweet without explaining what had caused the outage.
Google did not respond to a media request for comment on the outage.
YouTube, owned by Alphabet Inc's Google, is an American online video-sharing platform headquartered in San Bruno, California.
