Dubai Police have denied that two Israelis were being detained in Dubai.
The police dismissed the rumours as incorrect.
The authorities urged members of the society to refrain from publishing and posting such incorrect information.
They said anybody who indulges in such acts will be punishable by law.
According social media, the two Israelis were detained for photographing a government building.
Some bogus sites claimed that the Jewish community members in the UAE were aware of incident.
The authorities are tracing the source and an investigation has be launched.
