VIDEO: Child in UAE celebrates first birthday in quarantine due to COVID-19

The five-member family of Mohammed Al Qudah, along with their grandmother, who are all infected with COVID-19, celebrated the first birthday of their son in the field hospital in Al Ain that is designated for people with COVID-19. Being quarantined at a field hospital, the medical and nursing staff organised a mini-party for the family’s son who completed his first year in quarantine. It was a humanitarian gesture from them, bringing joy and happiness to the family in such hard circumstances.
The Jordanian father of the child, Rakan, expressed his gratitude and thanks to the leadership, and its great interest in providing health and psychological care at the highest and most prestigious levels for those infected with COVID-19.
“The care and attention we are receiving translated what His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, said, 'Do not worry,'" Rakan’s father said.
He continued, “We were surprised by the mini-party that was organised on the occasion of the first birthday of my son. It had a profound impact on the psyche of the family.”
He also affirmed that taking into account the humanitarian aspects in such circumstances could only be found in the countries in which the human being, regardless of origins, tops their priorities.
On Thursday, the UAE government conducted 136,352 coronavirus tests in the past 24 hours using the state of the art instruments.
The authorities said that they are planning to expand the scope of the tests to detect more COVID-19 cases.
The Health Ministry revealed 1,305 new cases of the Coronavirus.
The authorities said that 826 infected people recovered from the disease.
The ministry reported a death due to complications related to COVID-19.
The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the family of the victim and prayed for speedy recovery of infected patients.
The UAE authorities said that the country still maintains the lowest death rate due to COVID-19 in world.
The death rate decreased to 0.3% for the first time since the beginning of monitoring deaths due to Covid-19 in the UAE, which is one of the lowest rates in the world compared to the European Union, the Middle East and North Africa region and OECD.
