Asian maid jailed for stealing cash, jewellery worth Dhs20,000 from employer's house in Dubai

A 45-year-old Asian maid was apprehended and prosecuted for stealing cash and jewellery worth Dhs20,000 from her employer's house in Dubai.

The incident date back to last September, when the victim husband noticed the random disappearance of his money and his wife’s valuables throughout years of the defendant’s service at their house.

The victim claimed that the defendant had stolen not less than Dhs17,000 from his wallet and his wife's jewellery worth Dhs3,000 at various points of time during her service period in their house.

The couple didn't want to blame maid for theft without any proof so they installed surveillance cameras without her knowledge to monitor her actions.

The defendant was later caught red-handed on three different occasions stealing and was arrested and charged with robbery.
