VIDEO: Dewa tests wearable robotic exoskeletons in Dubai

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has announced that they are currently testing wearable robotic exoskeletons, developed by SuitX.
The robotic exoskeleton would be available for staff performing manual tasks to protect them, as well as enhance their productivity and accuracy.
Dewa shared a video showing a man putting on the exoskeleton suit. He then perform different tasks of lifting heavy products and shifting things that could have not been possible with bare human hands.
Dewa has been showcasing technological marvels at the Gitex technology week in Dubai.
Since DEWA is shaping the future of utilities using AI, the firm has employed robots in their Customer Happiness Centres and Future Centre for Customer Happiness to help receive services efficiently and in a timely manner.
Dewa aims to redefine the concept of a utility, and will create the world’s first digital utility to use autonomous systems for renewable energy, storage, AI adoption and digital services.
Dewa has also started testing the different uses of the Boston Dynamics’ four-legged Spot Robots in its internal operations, becoming the first utility in the region to use this robot.
Under the theme “Inspiring the Next Generation of Breakthroughs,’ Dewa is presenting a range of pioneering projects at the 40th GITEX Technology Week, that aim to reshape the future of services and the experiences of stakeholders.
The GITEX will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 6-10 December 2020. Dewa will also present, via its stand S2-D1 at Sheikh Saeed Hall, its most prominent projects, initiatives, innovative and smart services, robots, as well as digital transformation, automation, and cloud computing projects.
