Sharjah Police have urged members of the public to make use of the discount period of 50% in traffic fines.
The police said members of the public must benefit from the decision to deduct traffic fines by 50%, by paying violations through the (MOI UAE) app, and (Sahl) devices spread in “12” sites in the emirate, with the aim of simplifying procedures and enhancing customer satisfaction with the services provided.
The decision came into effect on Dec.2.
The Sharjah Police said the discount on traffic fines is based on the decision of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), and on the occasion of the UAE’s celebrations of the 49th National Day.
The discount will last for a period of 49 days, according to Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police.
Al Shamsi added that the police started taking all measures to implement the decision on time. The police indicate that the decision includes all violations committed before Dec.1, 2020, with the exception of the major violations.
The decision also includes cancelling vehicle impoundment and traffic points.
Al Shamsi also affirmed the Sharjah Police’s keenness to support all the steps taken by the Sharjah government to provide all services to residents, based on the comprehensive vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and the vision of Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, focusing on alleviating the financial burden on community members, and providing them with the opportunity to settle their legal issues.
The police have also urged that motorists must abide by the laws and regulations, keeping in mind that such fines increase financial burden on individuals.
The police also said that repetition of such fines would draw severe punishment.
