Light rain was experienced in several areas of the UAE on Monday morning.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said Jebel al Jais, Al Jabr - Al Rams and Sha'am - Ghalilah in Ras Al Khaimah witnessed heavy rain.
Sharjah’s Washah area and Al Hanniyeh of Fujairah saw moderate showers.
The NCM said the lowest temperature recorded over the country on Monday morning was around 10.9°C over Jabel jais at 4:30am UAE time.
The NCM said that the country was being affected by an extension of a surface high pressure over most areas of the country, associated with a ridge of upper air high pressure from the west to the east.
This could lead to formation of clouds over the western islands, the sea, and some coastal areas. Clouds may also extend over the northern and eastern regions, accompanied by rain, particularly over the northern and eastern regions.
The temperatures may decrease remarkably until Thursday, the NCM added. It expects the winds to be northwesterly moderate to active and strong at times onshore, which may stir dust along the open areas. The sea will be turbulent in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to turbulent at times in the Sea of Oman.
The NCM called on the motorists to exercise precautions while driving under rain, and amid low visibility. It also advised the public to stay away from the surface run-offs, and not to venture into the sea, which is expected to be turbulent in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
