Gang arrested for stealing electronic items worth over Dhs52,000 from Dubai firm

Four members of an Asian gang were arrested and referred to criminal court for forging an official document to steal electronic items worth over Dhs52,000 from a company in Dubai.
Official records indicate that one of the defendants was an employee of the company and had planned with his accomplices to steal the company’s shipment by forging documents.
Two main defendants, who were the masterminds of the whole plan, handed a fake ID to the other two defendants and instructed them to receive a shipment of electronic items worth Dhs52,461.
Defendants have promised to pay Dhs500 for each of them for receiving the shipment.
The other defendants took advantage of COVID-19 precautionary measures and covered their identities using masks.
Masks helped them hide their identity when they handed the fake ID to cargo officers.
The gang stole 32 new iPhones, but were successfully identified and apprehended by police teams and are charged with robbery.
