The Ras Al Khaimah Police, represented by the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, has approved mandatory training lessons for trainees before subjecting to the driving tests for all categories.
The step aims to improve the level of security and traffic safety and to ensure the safety of the emirate's roads in general.
Brigadier Dr Mohammad Saeed Al Hamidi, Director General of Central Operations at RAK Police, explained that a total of (15) mandatory training lessons must be completed by trainees before obtaining driving licences in all categories of vehicles (heavy vehicles, light vehicles, heavy buses, and motorcycles).

In addition, the night training lessons will be imposed on those applying for a driver's licence for light vehicles, he said.
“The persons applying for a light driving license will have to complete a certain number of driving training lessons during the night period in order to be able to drive during the night before passing the driving test,” he added.
Al Hamidi continued, “This aims to refine the performance and capabilities of drivers and qualifying them to drive during the night in order to preserve the safety of all.”
