During investigations, the 32 year-old Asian victim testified that he was surfing a dating website, and had contacted one of the defendants to go on a date with him and offered to pay Dhs300.
On the day of the incident, the victim headed to the given address and as soon as he knocked the apartment’s door, he was suddenly pulled inside by the two defendants.
The defendants asked him to empty his pockets, and when he refused, they began to brutally beat him, then they took out knife to threaten him.
Eventually, the victim had to give up his wallet and credit card and was robbed of Dhs1,000.
He was threatened to be killed if he reported the incident to police.
The defendants committed their robbery and immediately fled the apartment, leaving the victim locked up inside.
The building’s security guard witnessed that he had saw the defendants fleeing the scene, and attempted to stop them but failed to do so.
Fortunately, the guard found the victim and instantly called police teams.
The defendants were identified through surveillance cameras, and successfully apprehended to be charged with assault and robbery.
