Oman received the first batch of the Pfizer vaccine shipment on Thursday evening.
The vaccine will be used against coronavirus in the Sultanate.
A DHL aircraft carrying the shipment landed at the Muscat airport.
Pharmacist Khalid Bin Ali Al-Farsi, in charge of the vaccines and stores at the Ministry of Health, said that the first batch of the Pfizer vaccine has arrived in the Sultanate, and a plan has been developed to distribute the vaccine to pre-defined centres for mass vaccination drive.
The first shipment contains around 15,600 doses. And about 28,000 more doses will arrive by January.
