VIDEO: Saudi King Salman receives COVID-19 vaccine shot

Saudi King Salman received a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine on Friday in the NEOM economic zone.

The state news agency SPA posted two pictures and a short video that showed a medical staff administering the vaccine on the king.

Saudi Health Minister Dr Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabiah thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, who provided all support for everything in the interest of the citizen and residents in the country from the beginning of the pandemic until now.

Al-Rabiah said, “Today, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques received the vaccine because of his desire, may God bless him, to prevent this virus, and this initiative from him is a confirmation that the Kingdom’s policy always lies in prevention before treatment.”

In the last week of December, Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, received the first dose for the COVID-19 as part of the national vaccine programme implemented by the Ministry of Health.

Rabiah said during that time, “I extend my thanks and gratitude to the Crown Prince for his keenness and continuous follow-up to provide vaccines to citizens and residents, and his permanent directives to provide them with the best services.”

Saudi Arabia will lift a ban on international flights from Wednesday March 31, the state news agency SPA said on Friday.

The country will allow its citizens to travel abroad and then return from March 31, and will open all air, land and seaports from the same date.
