The UAE has administered one million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, the Ministry of Health announced on Sunday, with the total number of doses standing at 1,086,568.
The vaccine was provided in government and private health facilities and councils around the country to ensure it is available to the largest segment of society.
In line with the Ministry of Health’s plan to provide the vaccine to more than 50% of UAE’s population, a total of 66,219 doses were given in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of doses to 1,086,568 with a distribution rate of 10.99 doses per 100 people.

The number of people who completed the two doses of the vaccine was more than a quarter of a million.
The Ministry also announced the completion of providing the vaccine to the first line of defence, and those who have had priority since the registration of the vaccine at the beginning of October, and thus the vaccine will be provided to various groups of society, including citizens and residents, especially the elderly and people with chronic diseases.

The Ministry and local health authorities launched the national campaign to provide the COVID-19 vaccine in government and private health facilities and councils in the various emirates of the country, to ensure that procedures for receiving the vaccine were facilitated for the largest segment of society so that the vaccine was optional and free of charge for all citizens and residents.
Since the beginning of the crisis, the leadership of the UAE has confirmed that human health is first and foremost priority, and today with the entry into the planning phase for recovery and the availability of the vaccine in the various emirates, the Ministry urges all members of society to take the vaccine for the health and safety of society and its protection from diseases and epidemics.
