A 26-year-old African maid was arrested and referred to criminal court by the Dubai Public Prosecution for stealing Dhs1 million of different currencies from her employer in Dubai.
Official records indicate that in order to make her theft plan successful she also included other runaway accomplices in her robbery.
The Arab victim employer had filed a police report last September, accusing the maid to have stolen cash multiple times during her years of service.
The victim testified that the defendant had promised her not to repeat her crime after getting caught red-handed several times.
On the day of the last robbery, the victim’s husband had given her a key to the room where he hid Dhs760,000, $50,000, and 3,000 Kuwaiti Dinars inside his closet.
The defendant managed to lay her hands on the money and stole it and gave it to the third accomplice after receiving a cut of Dhs5,500 from the stolen amount.
The two female defendants were apprehended by police and charged with robbery.
