In line with efforts to ensure the highest quality of care to the community, Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has directed all its licensed hospitals and day surgical centres to put elective therapeutic surgeries on hold until Feb.19.
This decision was aimed at ensuring that the most critical health issues are prioritised. This decision applies only to elective therapeutic surgeries that require deep sedation or general anaesthesia. Elective surgeries that are medical emergencies will be permitted.

The list of elective surgeries includes but is not limited to neurosurgical procedures, fractures and corrective orthopaedic procedures, cardiological and radiological interventions, stone and urological stent removals.
Separately, during the last 3 weeks, Dubai Tourism issued more than 200 violations of non-compliance with guidelines and closed down around 20 establishments.
Dubai Municipality has strengthened its inspection campaigns to ensure the commitment to precautionary measures. The number of inspection visits reached 2,258. Five establishments were closed.
The Department of Economic Development (DED) closed 1 establishment, warned 2 and fined 23 others over the past 24 hours for not adhering to the precautionary measures set to limit COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
