A senior psychiatrist committed suicide after killing his married doctor daughter over a domestic issue in Multan city of Punjab province, Pakistan.
According to Pakistani media a senior psychiatrist of Multan Professor Dr Azhar Hussain committed suicide by shooting himself after murdering his daughter Dr Aliza Haidar.
He used the same weapon to commit suicide with which he had killed his daughter. He was 66 and his daughter 35.
Police and forensic teams reached the spot and the bodies were shifted to the Nishtar Hospital Multan. The police have started investigation.
Dr Hussain retired as a professor from the Nishtar Hospital Multan and was running a private clinic after his retirement. His family told police he had killed his daughter over a domestic matter.
It also claimed that Dr Hussain himself was suffering from mental illness for the last couple of months.
Aliza was also a doctor and she was doing the FCPS from the Nishtar Medical University while her husband was serving as a doctor at the Nishtar Hospital.
Dr Aliza did her MRCP in psychiatry from the United Kingdom and she had married a couple of years ago. According to some media reports, she was the only daughter of Dr Hussain and a mother of three children.
