A 28-year-old African maid was booked by police and referred to criminal court for stealing personal items from her employer’s house.
The incident dates back to last November, when the victim noticed her belongings disappearing from the house on several occasions.
The victim doubted her maid to be behind all this as she had worked with the family for nearly 10 months, the period during which the victim’s items started vanishing.
The defendant stole an iPad, watch, and the victim’s inner-wears, all worth nearly Dhs1,300.
During investigations the victim testified that once her daughter’s iPad went missing and at that time defendant joined them in the search for iPad, which they didn't find.
However, after a period of time victim caught defendant red-handed using the missing iPad inside her room.
After this incident, the victim decided to deport the defendant back to her country, and began to pack the defendant’s bag.
And it was during packing she found her missing items among the things of defendant.
The victim was shocked to find her missing phone and lingeries, and it was then she decided to file report against the defendant instead of sending her back to her country.
