The Ministry of Health and Prevention during (MoHAP) its weekly briefing on Tuesday on the coronavirus situation it the UAE had urged resident not to doubt steps taken by the authorities to contain the spread of virus.
“It has recently been noted that official statements announced by authorities have been questioned, and we emphasise that there is an integrated system to record all data related to the pandemic in accordance with the highest international standards,” said Dr Farida Al Hosani, official spokesperson of the UAE health sector, during the briefing.
“We call on the public to investigate the accuracy and always take data from their official sources and to refrain from questioning the efforts of all those who have worked to contain this pandemic,” she said.
Dr Farida emphasised that the UAE launched the national vaccination campaign after confirming its safety, and after successfully exceeding its needed scientific phases that spanned a year, noting that it meets international standards in the manufacture of vaccines.
“Three vaccines were registered in the country, beginning with The Sinopharm vaccine, Pfizer and most recently the Sputnik vaccine,” she said.
The national vaccination campaign aims to ensure that more than 50% of UAE’s population receives the vaccine in the first quarter of 2021, reflecting the leadership's concern for the safety of community members & providing best practices to ensure their health.
“The national vaccination campaign, reflects the leadership’s keen in maintaining the health, this is evidents in the number of medical centers which exceeds 205 in different regions of UAE where the vaccine has been provided free of charge for those who wish to take it,” said Farida.
