The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police registered 126 violations for not giving road preference to emergency vehicles, ambulance, police or official motorcades in the year 2020.
The police called on drivers as part of the Safety Path campaign to the importance of constant preparation to clear the way and adherence to correct traffic behaviour when passing these vehicles to ensure that they do not delay their arrival at accident sites, stressing the importance of clearing the way for these vehicles and giving priority to them and not obstructing or delaying their movement.
The police explained that the violation of "not giving preference and priority to the road to emergency vehicles, ambulance, police or official convoys, worth Dhs3000, with the vehicle being confiscated for 30 days and 6 traffic points."
Motorists are asked to give priority to all emergency vehicle as their timely arrival at accident site are of the utmost importance.
Abu Dhabi Police emphasised on the importance of spreading the culture of giving preference to the official vehicles based on the importance of respecting and consolidating national values and identity, which reflects a civilised image of the visitors.
