His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces met in Dubai to discuss the Hope Probe’s latest development.
Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid took to Twitter and said, “Today I met my brother Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed… We discussed a group of homeland issues… and we informed Sarah Al Amiri, President of the Emirates Space Agency, about the team’s latest preparations for the arrival of the Hope probe to Mars on February 9 after a flight of 493 million km...
“A historic event in which we begin our country's fifty years celebrations and its golden jubilee.
Sheikh Mohammed also said, “We are 9 days away from the arrival of the Hope Probe to the planet Mars and the registration of the first Arab and Islamic presence on the red planet… We will be the fifth country in history to reach the red planet...
Leaders hold an intense discussion.
“The expected success rate to enter the orbit of Mars is 50%... But we have achieved 90% of our goals in building our cadres and knowledge.”
Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed said, “The Hope Probe is nearing Mars. Congratulations to everyone on the occasion of the historic Emirati Mission to Mars.”
He said, “My brother Mohammed Bin Rashid and I discussed our national achievements, particularly in space and science, and our pride in the nation’s youth.
“We learned from Sarah Al-Amiri about the progress of the Hope probe as it nears Mars. We wish you all success on this historic journey.”
