African duo get Dhs45,000 fine for robbing Asian manager in Dubai

An African visitor and his runaway accomplice were sentenced by Criminal Court to 1 year imprisonment and a Dhs45,000 fine for robbing a manager in Dubai.

Atter the completion of jail term the defendant will be deported.

The robbery dates back to last July, when the Asian manager was heading towards his vehicle after work, and was surprised by the defendants’ attack on him.

The defendants started kicking and beating up the victim, then stole the bag of money in his possession.

The stolen amount was Dhs45,000 that was supposed to be deposited in a bank account by the victim.

The scared victim attempted to run behind the defendants and could not catch them, but luckily, he found a nearby police patrol and immediately rushed to get the officers’ help.

Surveillance cameras around the robbery scene revealed the identity of the defendants.

The apprehended defendant confessed to committing the robbery and many other similar robberies with the help of his accomplice, and revealed that they split the stolen money in half.
