A large number of community members from different segments of life and residents from Sharjah, Dubai and Ajman have attended the first ever ‘open session’ to address their problems from passport renewals to others.
The session was held in the Pakistan Consulate in Dubai and supervised by Amjad Ali, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai and Northern Emirates.
“The ‘open session’ was organised on the directions of Prime Minister of Pakistan at the Consulate General of Pakistan, Dubai. Keeping in view the COVID-19 precautionary measures, Pakistani community members participated in the session and raised the problems and issues being faced by them,” said Ahmed Amjad Ali, who listened and responded accordingly. He also assured the community members of immediate and best possible relief.
He also briefed the participants on the purpose and objectives of the open session with the participation of community members. He talked about special initiatives taken by the government for improvement in consular services that included the start of e-Visas in the missions. He also briefed the participants on the coronavirus situation in Dubai and Northern Emirates and encouraged them to get vaccinated.
The Pakistani community greatly appreciated the steps taken by the Consulate for providing a forum for sharing their problems and expressed gratitude for immediate relief.
However, the Ambassador of Pakistan, Afzaal Mahmood ,received Dr Syed Qaiser Anis, President, Pakistan Business Professional Council (PBPC), Abu Dhabi in his office on Wednesday. Dr. Qaiser briefed the Ambassador on the history and activities of PBPC. He also offered his and his organisation’s support to the newly appointed Ambassador.
Appreciating the good work of PBPC, Ambassador Afzaal Mahmood expressed his
desire to work closely with PBPC to strengthen Pakistan-UAE trade and investment ties. He said that trade and economic cooperation remains high on his agenda and he would like to prioritise interaction with the UAE Chamber of Commerce and business community.
