A 27-year-old European barber was jailed and referred to the criminal court on drug charges, after he was caught using and facilitating hashish at his Dubai residence.
The incident dates back to last October, when police received a tip-off about the defendant’s drug activity, and a plan was plotted to place him under arrest.
Police teams took all necessary measures to swoop on the defendant and seize the drugs.
The defendant admitted to using drugs and claimed that he got it from a friend, who was also arrested by police.

In another drug-trafficking case, customs officers at the Dubai Airport have successfully showed their competence, after placing an African visitor under arrest and preventing the smuggling of 34kg of marijuana.
The naive defendant thought he could easily escape the watchful eye of airport officers, and be able to smuggle three huge plastic bags of drugs without getting caught.
When the bag was being searched, the officers found the three bags hidden among the defendant’s belongings.
The case was transferred to Dubai’s Anti-narcotics department, and the defendant is now under prosecution for attempting to smuggle marijuana.
