An Asian visitor, 34 years-old, was busted and prosecuted by the Dubai Public Prosecution for smuggling 1.1kg of heroin into Dubai Airport.
Customs officers requested a routine check on the defendant’s belongings, and then asked him to undergo a body scanner for security purposes.
The scanner revealed the existence of a bizarre object inside the defendant’s stomach.
Police learned that the defendant had swallowed 8 plastic bags, containing 144 capsules of heroin.

The defendant confessed to attempting to smuggle the heroin and deliver to a buyer inside the country.
He was detained and referred to criminal court on drug trafficking charges, waiting to receive maximum legal punishment.
In January, a 38-year-old Asian visitor was arrested and referred to criminal court on drug trafficking charges for smuggling 258g of heroin into the country.
The incident dates back to last September, when police got a tip off about the defendant’s drug activities and planned an ambush to arrest him.
The arrest plan was successful and the defendant was caught in possession of heroin capsules, weighing 258g.
Maximum punishment is expected for the defendant according to the major felony he had committed.
