Dubai has fined a tour operator Dhs50,000, sealed a famous restaurant, and closed 2 sports establishments for violating COVID-19 guidelines in the emirate.
Dubai Police, in cooperation with Dubai Tourism, fined a tour operator Dhs50,000 after it was found organising an outdoor gathering without adhering to precautionary measures.
The Dubai Sports Council, in cooperation with Dubai Economy, closed 2 sports establishments, warned 6, and fined 7 others for not adhering to the precautionary measures to combat COVID-19.

In January, the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Lt Gen Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, said that private parties and meetings are responsible for the rise in COVID-19 cases.
The police chief urged everyone to follow the precautionary measures and social distancing guidelines to curb the spread of the virus.

The UAE authorities have issued over 30,000 violations related to COVID-19 since the beginning of 2021.
The authorities said, “We would like to emphasise the importance of adhering to all precautionary measures, in order to ensure the safety and health of our society.
“All relevant authorities at the state level monitor and track violations of previously announced procedures.”
The UAE has an advanced health care system. It has succeeded in establishing and rehabilitating hospitals and providing them with all help to deal with potential cases of infection, and to conduct the necessary medical tests for the largest population.
With the announcement of new strains of the virus around the world, the UAE’s track and test approach has been developed to ensure that these cases are monitored.
