Lebanon starts its COVID-19 vaccination drive on Sunday, vaccinating health workers and elderly.
The country received the first batch of the vaccine on Saturday from Brussels. It got 28,500 doses and more are expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
The rollout will be monitored by the World Bank and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to ensure safe handling and fair and equitable access for all Lebanese.

EU to fast-track jabs against virus variants
Due to its economic and political crisis, the World Bank offered a $34 million loan to help pay for Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines that will inoculate over 2 million Lebanese.
Nearly 3 million other vaccine doses are expected to be secured through the UN-backed COVAX program.
Lebanon has recorded 337,000 cases and 3,961 deaths since the outbreak of the virus.
