The embassy in a circular said that anyone who wishes to renew his or her permit must visit the mission on working hours. It also said that the authorities in India must have issued the permit for the concerned person.
The advisory reads, “As approved by the Government of India, like all other Embassies of India, the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with Ministry of Transport and Highways (MoRTH), will also w.e.f 15.02.2021 facilitate the re-issuance of International Driving Permit (IDP), to Indian nationals, which were originally issued by the relevant authorities in India.
“Those who intend to avail of this Consular Service may please visit the Embassy during working hours (between 08:30 AM to 12:30 PM on all working days from Sunday-Thursday) with their valid Passport and expired IDP/IDP number as well as their Indian driving licence.
